About Me

“A lot more laid-back than our wedding photographer!”

“Really easy-going, we went from feeling awkward to relaxed in no time.”

“Casual and natural.”

Hi, I’m Órfhlaith.

As you can see, I’m praised for my ability to make things feel easy and fun. My photo shoots are not something your kids have to endure to keep you happy, they’re playful experiences they will actually enjoy.

I’m a chef turned recipe developer, food stylist, and photographer. (If you’re interested, you can see some of my other work here, and if you need any dinner ideas or tips on maintaining your sourdough starter during our shoot, feel free to pick my brain.)

When I became a mother myself, I became obsessed with capturing every detail of my son - his sausage fingers, chunky cheeks, and squishy gummy smile - because the changes came so fast.

When I shared the photos with friends and family I realised I had never seen anyone smile at a photo of a salad the same way they smile at a photo of someone they love.

Family photography is the most meaningful form of photography I have encountered. Before we know it, these days will be over. Photographs give us something to hold onto.

It’s easy to get stressed out by the day-to-day — why won’t he nap?! Don’t run your fingers through your hair while eating porridge! The sheer torture of the changing room after swimming class! — but I know that when I’m 80, I will look back at these years and miss the purpose that I felt taking care of my son.

Just like the food I make, the photos I take and natural and unfussy. (Unless your child throws a tantrum, which can lead to some pretty funny photos.)

My style is defined by expression, moments of connection, and natural movement. I believe in letting kids be, and capturing your family just as you are.
